Route: From Zennor to Dartmouth (Popular Daily Distances)

The daily mileages of this itinerary are what 80% of our walkers choose to walk. These mileages will give you the chance to stop for lunch, and the opportunity to take photographs on most days, as occasionally there may be days with longer miles. Please consider the daily mileages if wishing to walk over the winter months due to shorter day light hours.

Day 2:
Zennor to St Just
Distance: 12 miles Difficulty: Strenuous
- Day 3:
St Just to Porthcurno
Distance: 13 miles Difficulty: Moderate

Due to a lack of accommodation in Porthcurno, it may be necessary to accommodate you elsewhere and include transfers to and from the accommodation.

Day 4:
Porthcurno to Penzance
Distance: 11 miles Difficulty: Moderate
Day 5:
Penzance to Porthleven
Distance: 13.5 miles Difficulty: Easy/Strenuous
Day 6:
Porthleven to The Lizard
Distance: 13.5 miles Difficulty: Moderate
Day 7:
The Lizard to Coverack
Distance: 10.5 miles Difficulty: Moderate/Strenuous
- Day 8:
Coverack to Helford Passage
Distance: 13 miles Difficulty: Moderate

There are 2 river crossings to consider today. Gillan Creek can be waded 3 hour either side of low tide and there is a small ferry operating 3 hours either side of high tide April til October. The Helford can be crossed throughout the day using the ferry. During Spring tides, there are occasions were the Helford ferry is unable to operate for 1-3 hours if the tide is extremely low.


Due to a lack of accommodation in Helford, it may be necessary to accommodate you elsewhere and include transfers to and from the accommodation.

Day 9:
Helford Passage to Falmouth
Distance: 9.5 miles Difficulty: Easy
- Day 10:
Falmouth to Portloe
Distance: 13.5 miles Difficulty: Easy/Strenuous

Two ferry crossings are required on this stretch.
Due to a lack of accommodation in Portloe, it may be necessary to accommodate you elsewhere and include transfers to and from the accommodation.

Day 11:
Portloe to Mevagissey
Distance: 12 miles Difficulty: Strenuous/Easy
Day 12:
Mevagissey to Charlestown
Distance: 7.5 miles Difficulty: Strenuous
Day 13:
Charlestown to Fowey
Distance: 10 miles Difficulty: Easy/Moderate
- Day 14:
Fowey to Looe
Distance: 12.5 miles Difficulty: Strenuous/Moderate

A ferry is required between Fowey and Polruan.

Day 15:
Looe to Crafthole
Distance: 8.5 miles Difficulty: Moderate
- Day 16:
Crafhole to Plymouth
Distance: 16.5 miles Difficulty: Moderate

A ferry is required between Cremyll and Plymouth. If you're not strict about walking all of the coast path, it's possible to get a ferry from Cremyll directly to the Barbican reducing today's distance to 13.5 miles / 21.5km. Please ask for details

- Day 17:
Plymouth to Wembury
Distance: 14 miles Difficulty: Easy/Moderate

Due to a lack of accommodation in this area, today's walk involves walking to the Yealm Estuary, then back towards Wembury for a taxi transfer to accommodation inland.

- Day 18:
Noss Mayo to Bigbury on Sea
Distance: 16 miles Difficulty: Moderate/Strenuous

This morning, you will be returned to the East side of the River Yealm to continue your walk. Approximately 10 miles into today's walk you will need to cross the River Erme. This is tide dependent. If you wish to ensure you can cross the river on foot, please contact us prior to booking to discuss.


Today's distance includes the walk to the Avon Estuary and back to Bigbury. Due to a lack of accommodation in Bigbury, a transfer will be provided to accommodation inland.

- Day 19:
Bantham to Salcombe
Distance: 12.5 miles Difficulty: Easy/Strenuous

This morning, you will be returned to the East side of the River Avon to continue your walk.

- Day 20:
Salcombe to Stokenham
Distance: 14 miles Difficulty: Strenuous

Crossing Kingsbridge Estuary by ferry.
Due to a lack of accommodation in Torcross, you will walk a short distance inland to the village of Stokenham.

Day 21:
Stokenham to Dartmouth
Distance: 11.5 miles Difficulty: Easy/Strenuous
Day 22: Depart
Dartmouth
