Route: From Bude to Lynmouth (Longer Daily Distances)

This itinerary is slightly longer than most of our walkers walk. Whilst you will cover more miles, you will also have less chance to explore the villages you come across or stop and take photographs. About 10% of our walkers choose this pace, and they are normally walkers with plenty of experience of long distance paths. We would not recommend walking this itinerary in winter months, when there is reduced day light hours.

Day 1: Arrive

Bude

Day 2:

Bude to Hartland Quay

Distance: 15 miles Difficulty: Strenuous

- Day 3:

Hartland Quay to Clovelly

Distance: 10 miles Difficulty: Moderate/Strenuous

IMPORTANT - Clovelly is a private village, so there are some access restrictions around luggage delivery. Please ask prior to booking for further information.

Day 4:

Clovelly to Westward Ho!

Distance: 11.5 miles Difficulty: Easy/Strenuous

- Day 5:

Westward Ho! to Braunton

Distance: 23 miles Difficulty: Moderate

Today's distance can be reduced to 18 miles / 29km by using the ferry between Appledore and Instow (if operating). The ferry operates 2 hours either side of high tide. If the ferry is not operating, then there is a regular bus service from Appledore to Instow.

Day 6:

Braunton to Woolacombe

Distance: 15 miles Difficulty: Moderate/Easy

Day 7:

Woolacombe to Combe Martin

Distance: 14 miles Difficulty: Moderate/Strenuous

Day 8:

Combe Martin to Lynmouth

Distance: 13.5 miles Difficulty: Strenuous

Day 9: Depart

Lynmouth

What's Included

Accommodation for the length of your holiday including the night before you start walking and the evening after your final day's walking in good quality B&Bs, Inns and small hotels. This will be en-suite wherever possible.
Breakfast - This may be a full cooked or continental option depending on accommodation. Evening meals can be arranged with certain accommodations for an additional charge.

If you are crossing a river using a ferry or on foot at low tide then we will provide you with the relevant information to assist.
Luggage transfers between each accommodation. 1 bag per person up to 20 kilograms. Additional bags can be added upon request.
